We can now create samples with our patterns. Sample with a specification sheet is absolutely necessary to avoid quality issues, and also helps with construction clarity.
We can make up samples in the fabric and trims of your choice, for fitting and approval.
After approval, if necessary, we can create a pre- production sample, and the we can do fit samples in all sizes.
This is an essential part of the clothing line process. It helps with small and big production lines. U can use samples to represent your bulk orders, and it helps improve quality.
Having a prototype is very important for c.m.t factories, so they know what you expect from them quality, and sewing construction wise.
Fit sessions can also be booked, to discuss style changes or measurement changes after styling sample or pre- production samples have been made.
Step by step guide
1. Choose a design and style. Communicate with your patternmsjer as to the details and fit of your style.
2. Create a block pattern for a fit and style sample, and create a flatsketch and specification sheet.
3. Choose a fabric, and trims. Get a rating from your patternmaker. Buy double the fabric needed. Be prepared to make more than one style sample to get the perfect fit. It can be a substitute fabric as long as it is similiar to the final fabric used.
4. Send your fabric, trims and specsheets off to your factory. Communication throughout the process is very important. You can order you fabruc and trims fir bulk at this point.
5. When you receive your sample back, make notes on quality and sewing construction. Check the fit if your sample and make notes on changes. Book a fit session with you designer, to discuss fit and changes.
6. You now will need to book your production units and create a preprodution sample with changes in the actual fabric and trims representing the final product. You will need labels, washcare instructions, size labeks and swingtickets.
7. Sign off your pre-production sample before production commences. The bulk of your product must always resemble your pre-pro sample.
8. Online qualility, and final quality checks might be necessary.
